Q. Obviously we need to pay for the services of the musicians, photographers and other vendors at our wedding reception, but are we required to provide dinner for them too?
A. As a general rule, if you're serving a meal to your guests, then you should feed your vendors, too. They are, after all, working hard to ensure this is a celebration you'll never forget. When planning your reception, determine the best point for the band and others you've hired to take about a half-hour dinner break. If you're concerned about cost, talk to your caterer about discounted meals for your vendorsthey're often more than willing to accommodate these requests.
