Q. After we decided on (and had several meetings with) our second-choice officiant, our first choice suddenly became available. Would it be terrible to switch?
A. If it's getting close to your wedding date and your second-choice officiant has done all the legwork necessary to bring you to the altar, it would be inconsiderate to make this change now. However, if you are still in the early stages of planning your wedding and your first-choice officiant is someone near and dear to you or your fiancé, explain the situation to the second-choice officiant in the kindest manner possible. He or she will surely understand.
