Bridal Beauty Countdown: 3 Months Before

Makeup Pinpoint a few looks you love by tearing pictures out of magazines, suggests Angela Levin, the L.A. artist for Chanel who did Nicole Kidman's wedding makeup. Also, decide who you'd like to handle your makeup on your wedding day.

• Hiring a pro? Ask friends or makeup-counter reps for their top picks. Test out your choice.
• Doing it yourself? Hit one (or a few) of your favorite makeup counters to try on different looks. Ask for application pointers as well as recommendations for long-wearing products.

For practice runs, wear a white shirt (or whatever color approximates your dress) to get a complete sense of how the makeup will look. And take photos. You want to be certain you're completely comfortable with the makeup—and the makeup artist—before you commit.

Skin Treat yourself to a monthly facial, starting now. "Regular, professional procedures help clear up blemishes and improve the overall appearance of the skin," says skin-care expert Cornelia Zicu. If you're not already seeing a pro, try microdermabrasion at home, which will even out your skin tone and stimulate a natural glow.

Hair Decide on a do that works with your dress by setting up a trial run with your hairdresser. Ideally, you'll want to bring a picture of yourself in your gown, as well as your headpiece. Consider a number of options, but "don't take a risk and go against your personal style," cautions Mark Townsend. If the session ends and you're not satisfied, try again, with either the same stylist or someone new.
