Though DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., served as the venue for this wedding, the couple wanted guests to feel as if they were being entertained in a private home. Planner Carol Marino of A Perfect Wedding in Fairfax, Va., drew on the groom's French ancestry and the bride's favorite colors (peach and cream) to achieve the romantic atmosphere.

For the entrance, she opened the French doors and had the columns lit from below.
