Cake toppers have been on the rise for several years, with personalized figurines of the bride and groom—such as the ones Heidi Klum and Seal used—particularly popular. But the latest trend is for initials. Mariska Hargitay and Peter Hermann had Very Different Cakes in L.A. put theirs in Swarovski crystals on a seven-foot confection (below). Not only is it a meaningful symbol, it's a better keepsake than the top tier of your cake in the freezer.
