To achieve this effect, L.A. hairstylist Frank Galasso washed Simms' hair with voluminizing shampoo, followed by a bodybuilding mousse on the roots. After towel-drying the hair, he blew it straight with a round brush. Galasso twisted random strands before wrapping them around a 1-inch curling iron to achieve loose waves. Then he pulled the sides into a small ponytail, pinning a thin section of hair around the elastic to conceal it.
